Persuasive Writing: your purpose is to present information to your audience that persuades them to take your side on the issue. You must include a call to action.

  • personal accounts (in one sentence!)
  • sentence structure: simple, compound in the predicate, compound, & complex
  • using appropriate pronouns & first person point-of-view

Visual Thesaurus - Offers a visual to help link synonyms and antonyms of words.

Lingo To Word - Translates any lingo (i.e.-txt msg lgwg) to English and vice versa.

Fluency Practice - Fry's 500 Most Frequently Read Words - Words pop up on the screen for students to read for 3 seconds. As they work through the list with greater fluency, the words stay on the screen for 2 seconds, 1 second, and .75 seconds. Helps build fluency and automaticity with word recognition.
